Rover Crew

 "SERVICE"

Rovers are the senior branch of OSG scouting, so adults may participate.  As Robert Baden-Powell originally intended, there is no upper age limit, so anyone 18+ may join. All OSG section leaders are required to be registered as Rovers, but not all Rovers are leaders.

Rovers are organized into self-governing Crews as part of the overall scout group.  We have one combined Rover Crew for all adult scouts in Brooklyn. Activities include but not limited to: Knife and Fire safety, Knots, First Aid, Nature Identification, Orienteering and Hiking.

The Rovers meet once a month for regular meetings and aim for 2-3 outings per month. The Rovering program is based upon two key works by B-P: Scouting for Boys and Rovering to Success.
